From an estate collection, the unique James W Tufts c 1890 two-piece campfire match holder 2623 in silver plate includes the “campfire” and a bucket as a matchsticks holder. The bucket has surface discoloration in sots, both on its outside surface and in its bowl. The sculpted “campfire” is textured. The piece measures 5” x 4 1/2” x 4”. James W Tufts owned drug stores and is credited with designing and producing one of the first soda fountain machines. James W. Tufts silver plated pieces can be seen in America’s finest museums.
